Manhaj of Jame Masjid Ihya-Us-Sunnah is the Manhaj of Ahlus-Sunnah wal Jamaa’ah
The Manhaj (Methodology) is to adhere to the Qur’aan and the authentic Sunnah as understood by the Salaf as-Saalih. The word Salaf is a shortened version of the word ‘Salaf as-Saalih’, which means the ‘Righteous Predecessors’.
It refers specifically to the first three generations of Islaam in which the Prophet Muhammad (Sallalaahu Alaihi wa Sallam) described as being the best generations of Muslims. The first, the Prophet (Sallalaahu Alaihi wa Sallam) and his Sahaabah (companions). The second, the Taabi’een (the followers of the companions). The third, the Tabaa’at-Taabi’een (the followers of the followers of the companions).
Generally, this term refers to all those pious predecessors who followed the way of the Salaf and who have preceded us in time. This is the true manhaj of Ahl as-Sunnah wa al-Jamaa’ah.
Manhaj as-Salaf: is a Manhaj based upon:
- Aal-Ikhlaas lil-Laah (sincere intention for Allaah)
- Al-Mutaaba’ah li-rasoolil-Laah (following of the Messenger of Allaah) sallal-Laahu ‘alayhi wa sallam
Manhaj as-Salaf: its foundation is the Statement of Allaah, the Mighty and Majestic:
But no, by your Lord, they can have no Faith, until they make you (O Muhammad) judge in all disputes between them, and find in themselves no resistance against your decisions, and accept (them) with full submission. Soorah an-Nisaa (4):65
Manhaj as-Salaf: is based upon the statement of the Prophet – sallal-Laahu ‘alayhi wa sallam:
“Whoever lives long from amongst you will see a great amount of differing. So stick to my Sunnah and the Sunnah of the Rightly-Guided Caliphs. Hold onto it, and bite onto it with your molar teeth. And beware of newly invented matters, for verily every newly invented matter is an innovation, and every innovation is misguidance and every misguidance is in the Fire.”
Manhaj as-Salaf: is based upon dissociating from al-Bid’ah (innovation) and al-Ahwaa (desires) and dissociating from its people.
Manhaj as-Salaf: is based upon openly aiding the Sunnah of the Messenger – sallal-Laahu ‘alayhi wa sallam – and striving to refute al-Bid’ah, expose its people, clarify their conditions and warn the people from everything that comes from them.
Argumentation about the Deen is something censured, whilst debating in a good manner is something prescribed. However, there are certain matters which it is not permissible to debate and argue about. It is obligatory to withhold from speaking about those matters which one has no knowledge of and to refer knowledge of it back to Allah.
It is essential and obligatory to adhere to the same methodology of the Revelation when refuting. So an innovation is not refuted with another innovations, negligence and falling short is not refuted with extremity, nor is extremity refuted with negligence.
Every newly invented matter in the Deen is a bidah (innovation).Every bidah is going astray and misguidance, and every misguidance is in the Fire.
